Food was amazing good seafood spot and the oyster happy hour deal was a highlight. Large location with good vibes, unfortunately service was slow—our drinks sat empty for a while even though it wasn’t that busy

Rodney’s is hands down one of the best spots in the city for seafood. The oysters are always fresh, the food is consistently 10/10. That being said, the service during dinner doesn’t always match the quality of the food. It seems like the happy hour servers carry over into the dinner rush, and while they’re friendly, the level of attentiveness and polish you’d expect at dinner service just isn’t there. Drinks and dishes can take longer than they should, and the overall experience doesn’t feel as seamless as it should for a dinner crowd. If you’re going purely for the food—you won’t be disappointed. Just know the service might not live up to the same standard.

We had the most amazing dinner at Rodney’s Oyster House! Our waitress, Hannah, was friendly and attentive, and the food was phenomenal! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

What a great place. We’ve been there a few times over the years and have always enjoyed some fish and oyster dishes as the food has always been great. I love the fish & chips, always great. On another note, we had an important event to host about 80 people. We decided and booked the upstairs part of the restaurant called the Oar Loft Bar. The event was a great success and a huge thank you to Victoria and her team as not only was the venue great, but the food and really great service were outstanding. It was so good that I didn’t take more photos that would speak more of the event and show the food. So here are just a few venue photos. We appreciate this and many thanks. We’ll be back.

Oyster house/oceanside bar/grille vibe to the restaurant, the decor was great with lots of seating and space. Service was fine and the food was good. Very casual and laid back, with lots of special events planned for locals and tourists alike. Mussels were fresh tasting and the lobster was sweet. Good choice for a quick seafood bite or if you want to relax at the bar!

Rodney’s Oyster House isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a full-on seafood adventure with a great sense of humor! The atmosphere was relaxed and fun — full of personality and little surprises (yes, even the bathroom art made us laugh! ). Our server Chris was a total legend — funny , attentive , and made us feel right at home . We came during Happy Hour ⏰ and enjoyed oysters — fresh and tasty, though a bit small (but hey, the price was right! ). The shrimp curry was absolutely mouthwatering — rich, flavorful, and perfectly spicy . The tuna tartare was served in such a creative way — and the chips looked like something magical , handmade by forest fairies . Only thing missing? A dark beer — that would’ve made it a perfect 10! Would absolutely come back again Great food , amazing staff , and a place full of charm and humor Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rodney’s is hands-down my favorite oyster bar in Calgary! The seafood is always fresh, the vibe is lively, and the service is fantastic. Every visit feels like a treat. I especially have to shout out their iced tea — it’s so good that I honestly need the recipe
